Day 113: Kitchen craziness!

It is Inspiration Monday again where Megan and Nora over at Two Birds Boutique circulate an inspiring look for participants to recreate or take inspiration from. This week Katie Holmes who is the chosen one.

            • Trousers: Marks and Spencer
            • White T: Next
            • Shoes: Dorothy Perkins
            • Bag: East
            • Sunglasses: Principles

I went for an 'inspired by' rather than a literal look mainly because the house is a bit chaotic from the big kitchen revamp, which starts today, so I didn't have much time to assemble the look. And I didn't actually use denim which could have been an easier option.

So, the work has begun and I almost want to cry! I know I need to have faith and vision but boy is it a mess. I hadn't anticipated quite how bad it would be but there is rubble and thick dust everywhere and it is working its way throughout the rest of the house. I also have no power or water in the kitchen so it is really a no go zone. As I was off work today I was around most of the time so saw the devastation unfold before me. I am sure that by tomorrow when I come home from work things will be much better. Now I understand why some people move out of their home when they are having work done.

The old kitchen has been taken out and most of the electrical wiring has been done and the basic pluming work too. There is so much rubble and dust from the loose plaster work on this wall and in places the bare brick is showing.

Look at my lovely wooden floors, ooohh! I did try hoovering up some of the duct but it is a bit like trying to clear up after a tornado with a vacum - ain't happening! The builder has also started to assemble the units. You can see how big they are compared to the little dumpy ones I had before.

  12. Hi Mikalah
Love your hair. I'm trying to persevere with growing mine but could do with a change. Am thinking of going a bit lighter but then I think of Kate Middleton and think no stay a brunette.
Can't believe your Grandpa is from Glasgow. What a small world. I lived there for 10 years and all my family are still there. You have to come and visit your roots in Scotland if you haven't already been.
I like your kitchen makeover. I painted my old wooden kitchen a few years ago but it was time for a whole new look now.
    Love
