Emma Stone
Lori
- Dress: Implicate Woman @TK Maxx
- Mustard top : Gap
- Black linen jacket: Marks and Spencer
- Tan belt: Dorothy Perkins
- Suede shoeboots: Clarks
- Bag: George @Asda
Now I must confess I am not really a fan of this look of Emma's. I think it has something to do with the short summer's dress and the bare legs which is pretty alien to me given the climate I live in. And, it just really is not me. However, that is the point of these challenges to open yourself up to new looks or a way of styling which takes you out of your comfort zone and pushes your boundaries.
So I wanted to capture the essence of the outfit and I knew straight away that I had a bag and the perfect shoes - must post about these properly soon (love them to death). I don't have a sundress but I wanted to emulate the colour and include pattern. I have never worn this TK Maxx dress before and actually had to remove the labels before wearing it today. I haven't worn it because it is not a perfect fit but putting this mustard top over it covered up its flaws and brought the colour I was looking for.
I am really pleased with how it turned out and the fab thing is that it would never have happened, even if I remixed my wardrobe for the next thousand years, without this look for inspiration. Clever Two Birds.
thanks for doing it even though you didn't love the outfit...i love hearing that! i love the top over the dress, and yes, these shoes are pretty cute!!
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of the inspiration pic, either. But you really pulled it off - and much nicer if I do say so myself! You are adorable in this outfit! GOOD JOB! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteLoving the entire ensemble on you...keep adding colour to your wardrobe...it really suits you. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xoxo
ReplyDeletethe mustard top is so bright and cheery, a good color combo with the black jacket and purple dress. The suede clogs looks very comfortable!

i love the inspiration pic, and your take on it! I totally understand about dressing appropriately for the climate, no matter how cute a look is you won't feel cute in it if your legs are covered in goosebumps from the cold! =)
ReplyDeleteYou did great! Some of these outfits are way out of my comfort zone. Usually by Monday or Tuesday I have the courage to try. I's quite amazing that I like what I come up with and wear it again!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on this one and you should wear it more often. And those shoes are cute. I haven't participated yet for the same reasons you mentioned. I have a few days left and I like how you did it.
