I have lost the will to be creative with my outfits in this chaos and I regret this is likely to go on for the rest of the week. Today's outfit is a result of lack of time, space and order to put together the look. I am an iron as you wear it kind of a girl and as the iron and ironing board are stored away and ironing clothes in the dust is not an option I went for the least creased items. Not sure where that leaves me tomorrow morning!
So how is the kitchen progressing? Well it is well underway as you can see. I must confess I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer scale of it when I came home this evening. The top units are so much bigger than the small cupboards I had before and it feels like they dominate the room. I am sure it will all be fine and I will get used to the difference in no time. I will won't I?
It is all starting to take shape.
Look at my poor wooden floors. I saw this little stool in a local shop and thought I might need it to get in to the back of the top cupboards. When I went back to get it it was reduced to 99p!
Oh man, in that chaos, no wonder you're not dying to pull out the ironing board! I bet it'll look gorgeous in the end.
ReplyDeleteI still admire your not shopping for a year pledge. I think that's pretty awesome. Do you have times that it is hard to not buy something new or does it get easier in time? And I wonder if you avoid stores to avoid temptation. I think I would have to. Especially Goodwill. Have you posted about this? I would love to read it if you have.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will get used to the new shelves and love the extra space. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

I only iron if an outfit I want to wear is super wrinkled, never before I put away laundry.
ReplyDeleteKitchen remodels are the hardest. You realize how important a ktichen is to the house. It is hard to leave without.
ReplyDeleteHope it all goes smooth. Those floors look like they will look amazing when finished.

Ugh, I hate ironing, haha. I love your blue shirt, that's one of my favorite shades of blue. =]
ReplyDeletehow exciting! your kitchen is really coming along. you'll get used to those cupboards and will be so happy when you'll have all that space to store things in.
ReplyDeleteyour outfit is totally fine. it's dark so i can't see any wrinkles at all! i hate ironing and often wear my clothes wrinkled. or i wet my hand or a rag and dampen my clothes and try to "hand iron" them. haha.
to iron or not is a good question. you are looking good today, it's amazing that you find the time to blog with your kitchen in work progress.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for stopping by.
looking forward to seeing your new kitchen, hope it doesnt take to long

Hi Daphne
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments - this kitchen refurb is feeling like the longest week of my life. Maybe I need 7 men on the job and not just one with a couple who pop in and out.
